Who can create a parking permit?

You can create a parking permit if your primary employer is Aarhus University and your workplace is in an AU building.

If you believe you should be able to create a parking permit, but are rejected, please contact tek@au.dk.

The parking permit is valid for

Temporary amendment of the parking conditions in Nobel Park - 1st of January 2018 until the summer of 2018

Read more below

From the 6th of February 2017 the parking permit is valid for all parking places covered by digital parking. You can see the parking spaces here.

If you have already created a parking permit, it now applies to all the parking spaces on the card.

Please note, the permit does not apply to the parking spaces at the Steno Museum and Naturhistorisk Museum (Museum of Natural History), these places are for visitors only.

At Trøjborgvej by building 1910-1918, you need to be particularly aware that there are spaces marked with a sign stating "Aarhus Universitet gæsteparkering” (guests to Aarhus University) with a restriction of four hours. These spaces are intended for guests, and the time limitation of 4 hours applies even if you have a parking permit. The gust parking spaces are the first 11 to the left after the entrance.

4-hour parking is available for guests on Jens Chr. Skous Vej (at the east and the north side of the Nobelparken building complex). Employees with parking permit may park here with no time limitation.

Temporary amendment of the parking conditions in Nobel Park

Commencing on the 1st of January 2018, FEAS will begin the construction of a new office building for COWI. This means that the parking conditions will be amended in order to make room for COWI and the building site. The changes are shown here.

Please note that AU employees can park in the green and gray areas with an AU employee parking permit. AU employees still have the option to create guest parking permits, valid for the current day, for both areas.

Guests - and all others - also have the possibility for 4-hour parking with the p-disc in the gray areas.

FEAS expects construction work is to be completed in the summer of 2018. We then expect the original parking areas to be available to AU.

How to register your car

Click the ‘Register your car’ button in the menu on the right. You will be forwarded to a login page where you must enter your username: au{auid}@uni.au.dk and your password. Enter your car’s registration number and then click the ‘Save’ symbol. You can register up to two cars - however, please note that you may not park both cars at the same time. You will receive an email confirming that the permit has been created. You can also log in any time and check your parking permits.

After you have registered your car, you can park in the parking areas marked with a ParkZone sign without the risk of getting a parking fine. However, you are not guaranteed a parking space.

The gust parking spaces are the first 11 to the right after the entrance.

New car or courtesy car
Remember that your parking permit - and the parking inspection - are based on your car’s registration number. If you acquire a new car, you must log in using the ‘Register your car’ button, delete the parking permit for your old car and create a new parking permit for your new car.

If you are temporarily using a courtesy car and you have already created the maximum two parking permits, you can delete one of your permits and create a parking permit for the courtesy car. After use, delete the parking permit for the courtesy car and create a new parking permit for the registration number you deleted.

How to create a guest parking permit

If you are visited by a guest who does not have a parking permit or is not employed at AU, your guest has two parking options in the areas:

  • Spaces reserved for guests with a time limit of four hours
  • A guest parking permit

A guest parking permit is valid for one day (all day). All AU employees who are authorised to create parking permits (see the above text box) can create guest parking permits. You create guest parking permits in the same way as parking permits for employees (see the text box ‘HOW TO REGISTER YOUR CAR’). However, you must select the tab ‘Guests,...’ and remember to enter the guest’s registration number.  You will receive and email confirming that the guest parking permit has been created.

The guest parking permit can only be created for the current day and is valid until midnight.

The guest parking permit is valid for the ‘regular’ spaces.

At Trøjborgvej by building 1910-1918, you need to be particularly aware that there are spaces marked with a sign stating "Aarhus Universitet gæsteparkering” (guests to Aarhus University) with a restriction of four hours. These spaces are intended for guests, and the time limitation of 4 hours applies even if your guest has a parking permit. The gust parking spaces are the first 11 to the right after the entrance.

AU official cars and suppliers

  • AU official cars with the ‘Aarhus University’/AU logo affixed to the car
  • Cars belonging to suppliers and other companies visiting/working at AU (the company name and CVR number must be affixed to the car)

are exempt from the parking rules and may park freely in the parking areas (however, only for a maximum of four hours in areas with a four hour time limit).
