The function of the mentor/buddy

Each year, Aarhus University welcomes more than 1000 exchange students from many different countries. Mentors/Buddies are responsible for a crucial part of receiving the international students. A mentor/buddy is an AU student from the program in which the foreign student is enrolled.

Arriving as an exchange student in a new place can be an overwhelming experience. However, with a mentor/buddy at Aarhus University, students are eased into their new study environment. The mentor/buddy is responsible for helping the international student with solving practical and administrative tasks related to their arrival.

At least as important is the fact that the mentors/buddies benefit from the contact with the foreign students and enjoy the experience of meeting other nationalities.
