Fileservice

Shared file service is a solution that provides all units with an opportunity to get a shared drive/shared folder where staff can store files and share them with each other.

Order a shared folder

To order a shared folder, please fill out a spreadsheet and send it to IT support at your main academic area (find contact information to the right).

NB! Please notice that the spreadsheet is subject to changes. Therefore, we ask you to download the spreadsheet everytime you wish to set up/add persons to a shared drive in stead of using a local copy.

Get access to the shared folder

You have access to the shared folder when your computer is connected to the AU network - either at an AU location or via a VPN connection.

Definition of words

  • Shared drive: a network drive that more users can access and store documents on.
  • User name: the one you use to log on to your computer.
  • Logon domain: what you type in in front of your username - find your domain.
  • Data responsible: any shared drive must have a data responsible. This person must ensure that use of the shared drive complies with the IT security, e.g. making sure that only relevant persons have access to the shared drive.
  • Estimated data use: e.g. 25 GB for documents and 100 GB for video files. However, there are no limitations. IT support needs the information to be one step ahead and avoid running out of space.
