Microfunding is awarded to people with a nationality that is on the Danish Tax Council’s list of developing countries.
The list states a number of low-income countries, which match the definition by Aarhus University of nationals in need of additional funding to support a move to Denmark.
Nationals from the following countries can receive microfunding:
- Afghanistan
- Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi
- Cambodia, Cameroon, Central African Republic, the Comoros, the Republic of Congo
- Democratic Republic of Congo, The Palestinian National Authority
- Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, the Ivory Coast
- Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau
- Haiti, Honduras
- India
- Kenya, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Kiribati
- Laos, Lesotho, Liberia
- Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Moldova, Mozambique, Myanmar
- Nepal, Nicaragua, Niger, Nigeria
- Pakistan, the Palestinian Self-Government, Papua New Guinea
- Republic of Congo, Rwanda
- Solomon Islands, Sao Tome & Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Swaziland, South Sudan, Syria
- Tajikistan, Tanzania, Togo, Tchad, Timor-Leste
