AARHUS UNIVERSITY’S ANNUAL CELEBRATION 2017

Aarhus University was founded on 11 September 1928, and holds a celebration every year to commemorate the event. In addition to university employees, we also invite our external partners, whose support for Aarhus University is invaluable.


The 2017 annual celebration will take place on 15 September.
The celebration will start at 14:00 with speeches, a celebration address, music, the conferral of honorary doctorates, and the presentation of scholarships and awards in the Main Hall on Ndr. Ringgade.

At 20:00 the same evening, the celebration will continue at Concert Hall Aarhus, with a concert directed by Peter Vuust and Per Christian Frost. After the concert, snacks and wine will be served for all guests in the foyer.

All university employees are invited to sign up for the ticket lottery to attend the ceremony in the Main Hall with a companion as well as the evening event at Concert Hall Aarhus.

The ticket lottery opens on 7 August, and the deadline for registration is 22 August.
The results of the draw will be communicated by mail in the middle of week 36.

Seats for employees (with a companion) at the ceremony in the Main Hall in the afternoon and at Concert Hall Aarhus in the evening will be allocated proportionate to the number of employees at the four faculties and in the administration, so everyone has an equal chance of a getting a ticket. The draw will be performed by Kongreskompagniet.

The intention is to enable as many people as possible to attend the afternoon ceremony in the Main Hall and the evening event at Concert Hall Aarhus. For this reason, Kongreskompagniet, who are responsible for the electronic distribution of the tickets, ask that all employees who will not be able to attend inform them of this. This also applies after employees have already received tickets.

If you are unable to attend, please contact KongresKompagniet by mail (med@kongreskompagniet.dk) or phone (8629 6969). Please include information from your ticket about your seat in Store Sal (entrance, row, seat). The same applies to the admission cards to the ceremony in the Main Hall. In this way, we can ensure that no tickets or admission cards go unused.

Note: This year, tickets and admission cards will be sent out electronically for the first time. Recipients must print out copies of their tickets and admission cards and bring them along in order to be admitted.

On the same day, the students will be celebrating their sports day and Denmark’s largest Friday bar in the University Park, with specially themed bars, activities and concerts.
