Get ready for the spring semester in Brightspace

Most of the spring courses are now accessible, and you can start building your courses. The CED has many support offers and is open until 23 December 2021 and again from 3 January 2022.

Most of the spring courses are now accessible in AU’s new learning platform, Brightspace. This means you can start adding content to the empty courses in preparation for the new semester.

If you are not already acquainted with Brightspace, it is a good idea to familiarise yourself with the platform. The Centre for Educational Development (CED) has a wide range of support offers to help you get off to a good start.

Ongoing support service

You can get help from the Brightspace support by calling +45 87 15 05 75 or by using the contact form.

Please note that the support service is closed from 23 December 2021 at 12:00 to 3 January 2022 at 9:00. You can still write to the support service between Christmas and New Year and will receive a reply when it reopen.

Workshops

At the workshops, you will be introduced to the most essential functions of the platform, including uploading materials, communicating with students, and setting up learning activities. There will also be time to address individual questions and concerns. You can find the workshops here – new dates are announced on an ongoing basis.

Brightspace Online Course

All members of the teaching staff are automatically registered for this online self-paced introductory course. In the course, you can find tutorials, try out tools, and get help selecting which activities are relevant to your teaching. Access the online course here, or find it in the Resources tab in Brightspace.

Tutorials

You can find tutorials for Brightspace’s functions and useful tips and tricks at AU Educate, which is an online inspirational resource for all teaching staff.

In this quickstart guide, you will find instructions for the most essential features of the platform in a printable format. You can also send an email to ced@au.dk if you wish to receive a specific number of printed folders to distribute to colleagues.

Drop-in support

Drop-in support via Zoom every Tuesday and Thursday from 14:00 to 15:30 – from 4 January and until 28 February. You can access the meeting room here, and you do not need to make an appointment beforehand.

How will students learn about Brightspace?

Students can find information about Brightspace on Studypedia.au.dk/Brightspace, which is updated regularly.

New students will be introduced to Brightspace in the material they receive at the commencement of their studies, for example through AU’s online orientation course Study@AU, which was developed in collaboration with the CED.
