Shipment of UN3373 biological samples, UN1845 dryice and other smaller exceptions. 


Course description

The course is aimed at former participants and new participants.
The training is aimed at anyone who packs biological samples, dry ice and small quantities under exceptions for shipment by air transport.

Overall goal

That the participants can pack the above consignments of dangerous goods legally for air transport according to ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization)

The nature of the course

The course is tailored to the individual's responsibilities and tasks. The content is:

A) General training

Personnel shall be familiar with the general requirements for the carriage of dangerous goods.

B) Function specific training

Personnel shall be trained, commensurate directly with their duties and responsibilities concerning the carriage of dangerous goods.

C) Safety training

Personnel shall be trained in the hazards and dangers presented by the dangerous goods. The training provide shall aim to make personnel aware of the safe handling and emergency response procedures.

At the end of the course there is a test, if the test is passed you will receive a certificate, the certificate is valid for 2 years. If you already have a certificate remember to renewed the training to get a new certificate.

The training must be reniewed after 24 month. 

Form

The training primarily consists of presentations by the instructor. It is expected that the participants contribute actively with input and questions in the teaching. The teaching ends with a test that must be passed.

Participants receive a certificate if the test is passed.

Price

The course is free for employees at Aarhus University. 

The teacher

The teacher has the following professional background:

  • Certified trainer in dangerous goods on planes, category 6 IATA.
  • Certified safety advisor according to ADR (dangerous goods by road).

  • Certified dangerous goods consultant in dangerous goods according to IMDG (dangerous goods via ship).

  • Chemicals consultant regarding labelling, classification and waste treatment.
