Empower Talent! is a mentor scheme for academic staff at Aarhus University.

Empower Talent! matches staff at assistant professor (assistant professor/researcher/postdoc) level with more experienced colleagues at associate professor level or above. 

The purpose of the scheme is to contribute to supporting and developing the professional and personal career potential of the academic staff. 

Empower Talent! is voluntary. Participation is voluntary based on the mutual interest of both the mentor and mentee. 

The course of the mentor scheme

A mentor scheme covers a period of one year, but may be cut short or extended if the parties wish.

It is recommended that mutual expectations and objectives for the scheme be formalised in an agreement (download agreement template).

Mentors and mentees will be regularly invited to participate in theme workshops intended to help inspire and develop the mentor relationship.

Completion and evaluation of mentor relationships

When a mentor relationship comes to a conclusion, this should be reported to the contact at HR.

HR will continue to work on optimising the Empower Talent! Therefore we should be very grateful if both mentor and mentee complete and submit an evaluation of the mentor scheme on completion of the programme.
