Funding for competency development at AU

Here are the two foundations you can apply to in order to obtain funding for competency development. Familiarise yourself with your options and make an agreement with your manager.

The State Sector Competence Fund – Den Statslige Kompetencefond

The State Sector Competence Fund provides funding for individual competency development. This funding is intended as a supplement to the funds already used in public workplaces for competency development. You can apply for funding for education and course fees, materials and transportation.

Who can apply for funding?

You must be employed by the state and covered by a collective agreement in order to apply for funding from the State Sector Competence Fund. Your manager must approve the application and is in charge of sending the application to the Competence Fund on your behalf.

Retraining Fund – Omstillingsfonden (VEU)

The VEU Omstillingsfond gives employees the opportunity to achieve new qualifications by enrolling in academy profession and diploma degree programmes. The funding is a maximum of DKK 10,000 a year per participant, and the funds are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. The grant only covers the tuition fee for the module itself, not books, transportation and working hours. Find more answers in the FAQ section of the VEU Omstillingsfond page.

Who can apply for funding?

Skilled and unskilled employees that are currently employed and have not completed a post-secondary degree programme can apply for funding by enrolling in academy profession and diploma degree programmes.
