1.3 Training - Moving

When relocating Departments from one place to another, it's important to consider that these areas may contain hazardous materials.
AU has appointed a relocation coordinator to oversee and facilitate the relocation process and to communicate with the respective Deparment.

AU's safety advisor conducts the 1.3 training and offers it as a 2-hour course; the course consists of theory and tasks.

At the end of the course, the participant is able to:

  • Identify dangerous goods.
  • Identify different exceptions, like excepeted and limited quantities.
  • Pack and package of dangerous goods for transport.
  • Mark and label packaging for the transport.
  • Request a transport documents for the transport of dangerous goods if needed.

At the end of the course, the student receives a certificate that is valid for a 3-year period.
If there is a need for 1.3 training of employees who pack and/or transport dangerous goods during a move, AU's safety advisor tgs@au.dk  should be contacted to agree on a date for the course.

Moving without the use of a car:
If the move can be made as a pedestrian, with chemicals in a cart or similar - the dangerous goods regulations do not apply.
Pack the chemicals thoughtfully in other containers (fiberboard or plastic boxes) with absorbent packing material (vermiculite).
