1.3 Training - Transport in car

If there are dangerous goods transported at the Department, the employee must have the 1.3 training for transporting dangerous goods before the work can begin. AU's safety advisor conducts the 1.3 training and offers it as a 2-hour course; the course consists of theory and tasks.

Examples of dangerous goods transport:

  • field work
  • deliver/collect samples at the hospital
  • collect dangerous goods at supplier (gas cylinders, pesticide),
  • deliver t dangerous goods  to recycling station or
  • transport dangerous goods between the Department´s addresses.

At the end of the course, the participant is able to:

  • Identify dangerous goods.
  • Identify different exceptions, like 1.1.3.1.c exception.
  • Pack and package of dangerous goods for transport.
  • Mark and label packaging for the transport.
  • Calculate points for free amonut 1.1.3.6.
  • Complete transport documents for the transport of dangerous goods.

At the end of the course, the student receives a certificate that is valid for a 3-year period.
