GDPR in research - how do we handle serious criticism from the Data Protection Authority?
Earlier this year, AU received criticism and serious criticism from the Danish Data Protection Agency for the way it handled GDPR in a number of research projects. The Academic Councils have also expressed frustration over the GDPR requirements for the AU Board. This calls for clarification!

AU Research (Deputy Director Jakob Rathlev and Division Manager Søren Broberg) will therefore visit the Academic Councils in the coming months to clarify external requirements for GDPR. They will explain what AU is doing to facilitate implementation of the GDPR at local, national and EU levels, and to ensure a common understanding of the special status of research.
Information meetings at all faculties
As a follow-up to the criticism from the Danish Data Protection Agency, the Research Data Office will also visit all faculties in the coming months to talk about data protection in research. The visits will aim to give researchers a clear understanding of their obligations under the data protection rules, and provide them with more information about the content of the rules and where to get help.
