Professor of astrophysics Jørgen Christensen-Dalsgaard from Aarhus University will be the first Dane to receive the Norwegian Kavli Prize for outstanding scientific research. The prize is one million dollars. He will share the prize with two other researchers within the same field of research: asteroseismology. One of them is affiliated with Aarhus University as an honorary doctor.
A new survey shows that employers are keen to work with AU students. And many employers would like to collaborate even more in the future.
An anthropologist, a medical doctor, a psychologist, a theoretical chemist and a software engineer. Five talented recent PhD graduates received Aarhus University Research Foundation PhD prizes, which were conferred for the twentieth time. The awards were conferred at the AU awards ceremony on Wednesday 25 May.
The Rigmor and Carl Holst-Knudsen Award for Scientific Research went to professor of medicine Søren Riis Paludan, and professor of biology Signe Normand received the Victor Albeck Award. The awards were conferred on Wednesday 25 May on the occasion of Aarhus University’s annual awards ceremony in the Main Hall. On the same occasion, the Aarhus University Research Foundation conferred five PhD prizes – for the twentieth time.

The Danish discrimination act (forskelsbehandlingsloven) has been amended, and it’s now against the law for potential employers to ask for information about the age of applicants in connection with job applications. The new rules will be implemented in practice at at Aarhus University from 15 June 2022.
