National clusters

The Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science has designated fourteen new national clusters that started their activities on 1 January 2021. 

​The task of these clusters is to promote collaboration between researchers and companies in regard to innovation and knowledge exchange.

Why are these clusters of interest to Aarhus University?

  • They are an important channel for transferring knowledge from the universities to the companies in the cluster
  • They can pave the way for entrepreneurs in the areas represented by the clusters
  • AU and the clusters can collaborate on joint events and projects
  • There is particularly great potential for strengthening collaboration with SMEs through the clusters

General activities common to all clusters:

  • Matchmaking
  • Research dissemination and communication
  • Collaboration and innovation projects
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Financing
  • Internationalisation

The internal cluster group at AU

Enterprise and Innovation facilitates an internal cluster network at AU. The network holds a number of meetings each year. The focus of the meetings is on cross-university networking and knowledge-sharing.
