The goal of this initiative is to create an ambitious research and development project which will help to solve the complex challenges in Maasai Mara in south-west Kenya – a unique place which is currently threatened by climate change and population growth, making it a local case with global perspectives.

16 researchers from across AU have been working together since the summer of 2014 to develop this African research initiative. The Faculty of Arts is contributing the knowledge of the Interacting Minds Centre and the Center for Bioculture and heritage studies.
