No more emails via FirstClass from 1 June 2016

The planned closure of FirstClass is now entering its final phase. From 1 June 2016 you can no longer send or receive emails in FirstClass. Emails sent to the @hum address will be redirected to Exchange (Outlook), and this applies to all employees.

FirstClass (FC) will be closed as planned on 1 September 2016. Over the summer Arts IT Support will move all emails from FC to Outlook, where they will be placed in a separate folder. This is why it is necessary to stop all email traffic on 1 June.

The same applies to uploading files to the system. Arts IT Support are responsible for moving all the files from the FirstClass desktop and conferences. The private files will be moved to a folder on the users' personal drives (usually called the P drive), whereas files from the joint conferences will be moved to other locations as agreed with our schools and departments.

Some teaching conferences will be moved to the schools’ shared drives as agreed by our schools and Arts IT Support. Please note that it is important that you identify the conferences in which you have any material that you may need at a later point.

Arts IT Support will also make a copy of all files from the conferences, but it may turn out to be complicated to retrieve your conference among the almost 15,000 conferences in the system. So we advise you to take a screenshot of your FirstClass desktop before the system closes on 1 September 2016. This will give us the best chance of finding your data again if we need to.
