Backgrounds for online meetings

Here you will find official Aarhus BSS backgrounds that you can use during online meetings. An official background can be particularly relevant when you are representing your faculty or department in a formal context, but the choice of whether to use a background or not is yours.

Setting up in Teams

Click on the desired file on the list of backgrounds to make the image open in your browser
Right-click the image, select "Save Image As..." and save the image to your computer
Start a meeting in Teams (e.g. a random meeting or with you as the only participant)
Click the three dots at the top and select "Apply background effects"
Click "Apply new" in the panel at the right
Find the image of your choice on your computer and select "Open"
Scroll down and select the new background among the other background effects. Please note: The background will be inverted on your own screen. This does not affect how other participants in a meeting see your background.
Click ”Apply” at the bottom

Setting up in Zoom

Click on the desired file on the list of backgrounds to make the image open in your browser
Right-click the image, select "Save Image As..." and save the image to your computer
Start Zoom
Click on the gear at the top right corner
Click on "Background & Filters"
Click on the small plus sign at the right and select "Add Image"
Find the image of your choice on your computer and select ”Open." Please note: The setting "Mirror my video" at the bottom is turned on by default and therefore the background will be inverted on your own screen. This does not affect how other participants in a meeting see your background.
