Colourful introduction days in the University Park
After a prolonged lockdown, the university is now full of students who are familiarising themselves with their new degree programme, fellow students and campus. In the University Park in Aarhus, the lawns are once again occupied by introduction week activities.
For a long time, Aarhus BSS’ three locations have been very quiet. But now, there is once again an abundance of students all over campus as the introduction days 2021 take place under lifted or relaxed COVID-19 restrictions.
As usual, the green lawns in the University Park have been occupied by new students and student advisers in the changeable Danish summer weather.
New ties to each other and to campus
This year, Aarhus BSS has offered a place to 2,368 new students. As a result, large groups of new students now have to get to know each other – and campus.
In addition, many students return to campus after almost a year of online teaching. They too need to form new ties to each other and to the physical study environment of the school’s departments.
For this purpose, AU has launched a campaign for a fresh start. Among other things, this involves a number of coffee bikes around AU’s campus areas. It also features the hashtag #AUgenstart which students can use to share content on social media, and the website AUgenstart where they will find useful links for rediscovering good study habits and tips for student well-being.
Fun and cheerful noise in the University Park
In the University Park in particular, the introduction days and fresh start have brought fun and games among the students. New students and student advisers in brightly coloured t-shirts or costumes have been visible (and audible) around the green lawns, participating in introduction week activities in both sunny and rainy weather.
