The new COVID-19 response team consists of Head of Department Jacob Kjær Eskildsen (chair), Director of Studies Carsten Jensen, Head of Communications Aase Bak, Head of Building Services Peter Bachmann Vestergaard, Head of Section Stina Lykkebye Tylén and Counsellor Rasmus Holleufer from the Dean's Office.

The main task of the response team is to ensure that any cases of COVID-19 among students be communicated simultaneously to the department in question (to the head of department, director of studies and head of department secretariat). The response team must also agree on the specific allocation of tasks between the department(s) involved (e.g. initiating immediate cleaning and contact tracing measures).

The team has held two introductory meetings to establish the procedures for handling infection. The aim is to ensure an expedient and flexible coordination between the academic departments, the Studies Administration, Building Services and Communication. The team has also been discussing how to handle cross-faculty infection cases as some classrooms and lecture theatres are shared by several faculties.

If several students are infected at the same time and if this calls for further action (e.g. sending home students or cancelling classes), these actions must be clarified with the response team and the dean. All students who have tested positive for COVID-19 are also encouraged to notify the studies administration by filling out AU’s COVID-19 form.

How will the lecturer be notified if a student has tested positive?

If a student is infected with COVID-19, the lecturer will be notified by the department (either the head of department, director of studies or head of the department secretariat).
