What experiences and competences will you make use of as director of studies?

First of all, I have been teaching a range of courses at Aarhus BSS since 2011. I have also been part of the management team at the Department of Management from 2015 and until 1 August this year. I therefore know the department and its employees and I know the school and the administration.

What projects and tasks do you look forward to embarking on?

I have taken over a degree programme, which has just been restructured, which is growing in terms of intake, and which is now offered in both Herning and Aarhus. Naturally, it is important to get the new ITKO off to a good start. Luckily, we have excellent line coordinators in Aarhus and in Herning (as well as excellent and experienced lecturers), who know exactly what they are doing, so I know they’ll do a great job.

We also need to ensure the right level of uniformity across the two locations without (and this is very important) losing the flexibility of being able to use individual local resources.

Last but not least, the new programme has an ambitious goal to incorporate scientific methods across the individual courses. It is important to ensure that we succeed in doing so in order to give our students a broad and solid methodical foundation. Not just in terms of their Master’s thesis, but also in terms of their overall ability to critically understand and interpret knowledge.
