In autumn 2018, Aarhus BSS has implemented a broad consultation process in which all of the school’s employees and students were invited to provide input on the new Campus 2.0. According to AU’s Campus 2.0 master plan, Aarhus BSS’ activities at Fuglesangs Allé will relocate to the new University City in 2022-24. This means that all of Aarhus BSS’ activities in Aarhus will be gathered across Nørrebrogade.
The many ideas have now been gathered in a consultation response and submitted to the rector. They will form part of the board’s final decision on Campus 2.0 in December.
It is important that all the good ideas and needs related to the physical surroundings in the future University City are incorporated into AU’s master plan before the board decides on the overall structure and activities of the new University City in December.
In this way, we hope to ensure that as many relevant needs and wishes as possible are considered in the subsequent planning of the University City.
With this consultation process, the faculty management team is encouraging employees and students to carefully consider the following:
The consultation process focuses on the physical surroundings and on we can ensure a good overall work and study environment in the new University City. Later - when the relocation plans have become more specific - we will initiate local and more detailed procedures involving the users.
Based on the Campus 2.0 master plan, the faculty management team has established three overall principles that should guide the input:
The following overall themes form the basis of the consultation process and focus on how the physical surroundings allow us to:
Before the internal consultation in October, a number of detailed questions for each theme will be developed based on preliminary comments from the departments, student representatives and administrative managers. These questions will form the basis for the internal consultation.
Employees and students are already welcome to suggest additional themes, comment on the existing themes and suggest relevant questions for the upcoming internal consultation. Just send an email to email@example.com.
Internal consultation involving employees and students from 2 to 23 October.
It is up to each department to decide how they want to structure the local consultation of the employees. HR will consult with the local liaison committee and the Dean’s Office with the occupational health and safety organisation.
Catalogue of questions - Campus 2.0 autumn 2018
The faculty management team has formulated a number of questions within six general themes. The questions are listed in the catalogue below.
The purpose of this catalogue was to stimulate discussion among staff and students across the faculty about essential general wishes and needs that should already be under consideration for the physical surroundings at AU.
The collected input from employees and students will be sent to the rector on 1 November.
The collected input from the school will be presented to the board in connection with the final approval of the master plan in December 2018.
After the consultation process and the board’s approval of the vision and master plan in December, a new phase will be initiated. Here the specific projects will be unfolded and implemented.
The overall framework of the Campus 2.0 project has been established by the faculty management team at Aarhus BSS.
A steering committee has been appointed for the project. The same committee will head the subsequent phases of the comprehensive Campus 2.0 project, which is scheduled to end in 2022-24.
In addition, a number of resource persons from the departments, school administration, AU’s master plan group as well as student representatives will be involved in the development of the consultation documents and the school’s consultation response to the rector.
