News from the senior management team no. 23/2014

7,226 applicants offered enrolment

Earlier last week, 7,226 applicants were offered enrolment at Aarhus University. Thus, it looks as though this year's intake of Bachelor’s students is on a par with last year's.

As things stand, Arts and Science and Technology have admitted slightly fewer applicants than last year, while Health and the School of Business and Social Sciences have seen slight increases. However, it is still possible to apply for places on 33 degree programmes, so the final intake figure can still change.

Starting at midnight last Wednesday, applicants have been able to see whether they had been offered enrolment via the self-service system. And after only an hour, the first 1,266 applicants had taken the opportunity to accept the offer digitally. By the end of the week, a total of 5,000 applicants had accepted their offers. The final deadline for applicants to accept enrolment is 5 August.

Free courses at the Danish University Extension for AU staff

Next semester, current and retired employees as well as alumni are eligible to take courses free of charge at the Danish University Extension.

The free places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, and registration opens on Wednesday 6 August at 8.00.

Please note that staff members' companions are no longer eligible for free courses. This means that more free places are available for staff and alumni.

To register, enter the code AU14 under 'Specialaftaler' at www.fuau.dk.

The course registration website and courses are in Danish. However there are some free lectures in English.
