Full support for researchers contributing to the Danish government’s agricultural package

Aarhus University fully supports the researchers who are engaged in public sector consultancy. Niels Christian Nielsen, dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, made this clear in response to an article about the Danish government’s agricultural package in Friday’s issue of Berlingske. He stresses that quality, transparency and independence are vital for good public sector consultancy.


AU researcher receives ERC Consolidator Grant

Assistant Professor Ebbe Sloth Andersen from iNANO and the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics has been awarded a Consolidator Grant by the European Research Council. The EUR 2 million grant will be used to fund research into biological nanostructures. The European Research Council awards Consolidator Grants to outstanding researchers in the middle of their careers.


New Danish Council for Independent Research grants

Fifteen researchers from Aarhus University have been awarded postdoc grants for research projects by the Danish Council for Independent Research. The Danish Council for Independent Research has awarded a total of DKK 120 million to 62 projects, with AU researchers receiving almost DKK 30.5 million for 15 different research projects.


Ulla Tørnæs is new Minister for Higher Education and Science

On Monday 29 February, Ulla Tørnæs was named Minister for Higher Education and Science, replacing Esben Lunde Larsen. Esben Lunde Larsen served as Minister for Higher Education and Science since the general election in June 2015, and has now been appointed Minister for Environment and Food. The senior management team looks forward to working with both ministers.
