All faculties have an academic council which exists to ensure that students and staff are involved in debate and decision-making and have a say in academic conditions at the university. For example, decision-making processes in relation to the faculty’s strategy, budget or employment policy.
Academic councils can also address the senior management team directly, and appoint members to the advisory councils which assist in the recruitment process of a new rector.
