Common emergency number at Aarhus University

AU has introduced a common emergency number which everyone can use in case of fire, accidents or other life-threatening situations at Aarhus University.

Aarhus University has introduced a common emergency number which you can use in case of fire, accidents or other life-threatening situations at Aarhus University. As always, you must first call the emergency services 112, but afterwards you must also call the new emergency number: 8715 1617

The phone number is the same irrespective of whether you are on the Aarhus Campus, the Emdrup Campus or at AU Herning or one of the university’s other locations, and the phone is manned 24/7.

Your call can provide the university with important information at an early stage, thus making it possible to deal with the critical situation better and more efficiently.

Please note that you must also call the emergency services 112 and 8715 1617 even though you may already have triggered a fire alarm.

If demanded by the situation, the university will appoint a crisis management team and, if appropriate, establish an on-site crisis response team to assist the authorities. The University Director will take charge of the crisis management.

New emergency instructions will be posted in all of the university’s buildings, stating the common emergency number.

The university will always publish information about major crises online at au.dk, and will post messages on the university’s Facebook page and via the  ”Aarhus Universitet” Twitter account (@AarhusUni).
