PhD competition: Explain your research in three minutes!
PhD students at AU can now apply for a place in this spring’s research communication competition Three Minute Thesis (3MT). All participants will receive training in academic communication, and the winner will receive a travel grant of DKK 35,000 along with the chance to be selected for the international 3MT final.
Do your friends’ eyes glaze over when you tell them about your research? Would you like to be even better prepared when journalists call? Or when you need to present your project at the next lecture, conference or industry event?
Now you have the opportunity to take your academic communication to the next level – and to win DKK 35,000 in the process! Sign up for the 3MT competition by 28 January 2025 and be part of an exciting and fun evening in front of an enthusiastic audience in Stakladen on 19 March 2025.
The 3MT challenge is simple: Present your research in just three minutes with just one slide – for an audience of non-specialists.
All participating PhD students receive professional coaching and feedback on communication, body language, public speaking and other 3MT skills before the event – to help you get your message across on stage.
The winner of 3MT takes home a travel grant of DKK 35,000 – as well as the chance to become one of the three finalists in the international Coimbra Final along with PhD students from more than 35 European universities.
The competition is held in English. You can read all the details about the competition, requirements and the application process on the website: www.phd.au.dk/3mt.
