65 AU-forskere får del i Carlsbergfondets millionuddeling

​​​​​​​Carlsbergfondet uddeler knapt 98 mio. kr. til grundforskning på Aarhus Universitet. Særligt humaniora og samfundsvidenskab bliver tilgodeset.

65 forskere ved Aarhus Universitet er blandt de 292 ansøgere, som tirsdag den 7. december modtager en forskningsbevilling fra Carlsbergfondet. I år uddeler fondet i alt 456 mio. kr. til de danske forskningsmiljøer. Til Aarhus Universitet kommer 97.700.440 kr.

Carlsbergfondets bestyrelsesformand, Flemming Besenbacher, hæfter sig ved, at det har været muligt at betænke især forskning inden for humaniora og samfund.

”Vi uddeler 200 mio. kr. samlet til humaniora og samfundsvidenskab. Det er halvdelen af vores midler, som går til forskere, der ikke har så mange puljer og programmer at søge midler fra som forskere inden for naturvidenskab. Det glæder mig,” siger Flemming Besenbacher.

Alle bevillinger er givet på baggrund af en grundig faglig vurdering af de i alt 589 indkomne ansøgninger, som fondet fik ved ansøgningsfristen i oktober. Ansøgningerne udspringer af forskernes egne videnskabelige ideer og projektforslag, der breder sig fra forskning i landbrugets udvikling i 1600-tallet til klimaforandringers påvirkning af arktiske økosystemer.

Som bestyrelsesformanden formulerer det, er det i tråd med Carlsbergfondets værdier og strategi, at fondet prioriterer midler til både de yngre forskertalenter på postdoc-niveau og de mere etablerede forskere, der har brug for støtte til at konsolidere sig som selvstændige forskningsledere.

”Jeg er glad for, at vi kan kanalisere et stort millionbeløb ind i dansk forskning og på den måde bidrager til at igangsætte vigtige videnskabelige aktiviteter på initiativ af en lang række af landets mest kompetente og idérige forskere,” siger Flemming Besenbacher.

Ifølge Carlsbergfondet bliver det spirende lektorniveau tilgodeset i årets uddeling. På AU får 11 yngre, nyansatte lektorer hver et Young Researcher-stipendium. Formålet med dette virkemiddel er at fremme forskerens mulighed for at stå på egne ben ved at etablere en selvstændig forskergruppe omkring sig.

Tal på uddelingen

Carlsbergfondet modtog 589 ansøgninger til ca. 1,1 mia. kr. Mandlige ansøgere modtager 291 mio. kr. og kvindelige ansøgere 165 mio. kr. Det svarer til, at kvindelige ansøgere modtager 36 pct. af det samlede uddelte beløb. På AU får16 kvindelige forskere bevillinger.
