Extended construction work hours on Nørrebrogade tunnels
Aarhus Light Rail has been granted a permit to extend construction work hours in connection with work on the Nørrebrogade tunnels.
Until 30 September 2015, the Aarhus Light Rail contractor will be allowed to work during the following times:
- 6:00 - 20:00 on weekdays
- 7:00 - 19:00 on Saturdays and Sundays
The extension has been granted to ensure that the construction of the tunnels connecting the university and hospital campuses is completed on time to avoid delays in laying rails and establishing the power supply for the light rail.
In connection with the construction work on Randersvej, the City of Aarhus has also authorised the construction of a new access road to Aarhus University Hospital on Nørrebrogade. It will no longer be possible for southbound traffic to turn left from Randersvej onto Trøjborgvej. Instead, Trøjborgvej will be connected to Nordre Ringgade at the intersection across from Jens Chr. Skous Vej. This ensures that vehicles still have access to the hospital and north-western Trøjborg. The change is permanent.
