The Danish general elections 2026: AU students will get a first-row seat at the party leaders’ debate in the University City

The general election has been called, and TV2Østjylland will host a part leaders’ debate Monday in the University City. 300 AU students will be given a chance to participate.

What seems like moments after the prime minister announced the general elections before a party leaders’ debate, a party leaders’ debate was announced. The debate will take place here at AU in the University City.

300 AU students will have the opportunity to attend the debate, which is being organised by the local TV station TV2Østjylland and will take place Monday afternoon in the foyer of the City Auditorium. Excerpts from the debate will be televised by TV2Østjylland the same evening.

TV2Østjylland is planning an additional 3-4 smaller debates in Aarhus over the course of the election campaign; about 50 students will be invited to participate in these events. The debates will be announced on studerende.au.dk once the dates have been finalised.
