New degree programmes on the way: 23 AU applications have been approved
Natural Sciences will be offering a variety of shorter and work-integrated MSc programmes, and new BA programmes will be added to Arts’ portfolio. All of the new programmes are a result of the Master’s reform.
It’s just been announced that all 23 of AU’s applications to offer new degree programmes have been approved by Minister for Science, Higher Education and Digital Affairs Christina Egelund.
The majority of the new programmes will be offered by the Faculty of Natural Sciences; three 75-ECTS MSc programmes as well as 15 ‘1+2’ work-integrated MSc programmes have been approved. Students on these 1+2 programmes will study full-time for the first year and then spend two years dividing their time between campus and workplace. These programmes will be offered in English: demand for STEM graduates is high at Danish companies, and attracting international graduates can help ensure that supply meets demand.
The other five programmes that have been approved will be offered by the Faculty of Arts. All of them are a result of the master plan adopted by the faculty in 2025 in the wake of the Master’s reform.
“Working with the possibilities and limitations of the reform is quite a big job. Both academic and administrative staff deserve recognition for how they’re working with this new framework to develop new degree programmes and new formats,” Pro-Rector Berit Eika says.
