Teaching: New opportunities for digital collaboration with students
In May, all students at AU will get access to the tools in the Microsoft 365 package, including Teams – just like AU staff. This will open up a range of new opportunities for digital collaboration between you and the students in addition to Brightspace.

Teachers and students at AU have long requested better opportunities for digital collaboration, and their wait is almost over. In May, AU students will get access to Teams and the other tools in the Microsoft 365 package, just like AU staff.
As a teacher, you can make use of the new tools to the extent that it makes sense for your course. During the spring, you will receive more information about how to use the tools in your teaching, for example how you can integrate them with Brightspace. You can also find tips and tricks on the how-to site or take a course on how to use the tools at CED.
Students to get the same email system as staff
Students will get access to Microsoft 365 at the beginning of May. At the same time, their AU email will move from post.au.dk to Microsoft Exchange (Outlook). This is necessary for them to access the Microsoft 365 package, including Teams. This means that students and employees will have the same email system.
But it’s worth noting that:
-
Students’ email addresses will stay the same.
-
Students and employees can’t see each other’s calendars unless they actively grant each other access.
-
There will be two different mailing lists; one for students and one for employees.
The studies administration teams will send out emails in March and April with more information to students about the move.
