At the beginning of 2024, we all got new personal websites that give AU's researchers a unique visual identity when they need to showcase their work as researchers. The websites follow AU's general design guidelines and are thus easily recognisable as AU.
There are now two different sites that display content from Pure. The new personal websites are the ones exemplified by the image to the right. It is your front page that is shown when you are searched for via AU's pages. The simple and clear design helps to set AU apart from other universities and research institutions. A selection of your publications, activities and projects will be displayed here. You also have the opportunity to describe your work life in free text fields, link to your different IDs and much more. This page only shows a small selection of content.
Below your personal website is the Pure portal - here you can see all the content that you are registered with. Unfortunately, we have very little influence on the look of the Pure portal, but there is a major design upgrade in the pipeline that is expected to be introduced in 2026.
When you Google an AU researcher, it varies which page is listed as the first hit - we would like you to link to your personal websites yourself when you need it.
The personal website focuses on the person, while the Pure portal focuses more on the researcher's production.
On the personal website, you can view some short, manageable texts under some pre-defined headings. You can choose the headings that are most relevant to you and your position.
The headings are:
You also have the option of inserting a link to a CV - and here you can either use a dynamic Pure-generated CV that automatically updates the content when you add new publications and activities, or you can link to a CV that is located elsewhere (see separate instructions on how to do this).
What is not shown?
The Pure portal highlights your content – your outputs – more than your person. Therefore, you can read about all the content and the details about it. If you've selected specially featured content in Pure, it will appear first.
If you have registered a "known as" name in your Pure, that is the name that appears on the Pure portal.
The profile text fields from the Quick Editor are not optimized for the Pure portal - they are displayed, but in a slightly unsightly long list.
