Towards a consolidation of parts of Faculty of Arts in the University City South
In the coming years, there will be a gradual relocation from Nobelparken, Kasernen, and Tåsingegade to consolidate parts of Arts in University City South. This is a large puzzle.
The Campus Steering Group has assured Arts that the placement of academic environments in the University City South will be determined by relevance and academic connections rather than by which buildings need to be vacated first.
Naturally, the faculty management aims to avoid interim relocations. However, it is also a priority to keep departments and academic environments together while ensuring the best possible distribution within the University City South.
To complete the overall relocation plan, it is necessary to vacate building 1451 and building 1453 by the first quarter of 2026. As part of this process, the Department of Theology will move to building 1442-1443 in Tåsingegade end this year, while the Department of the Study of Religion is expected to relocate collectively to building 1461-1463.
