COBE Lab has moved to the University Park
The Cognition and Behavior Lab (COBE Lab) was previously located on Fuglesangs Allé, but as part of campus development, they have now moved to the University Park. Who are they and what do they do?
COBE Lab is a research laboratory at Aarhus BSS. Researchers at the lab investigate how people think, make decisions and solve problems. The laboratory makes equipment, facilities and resources available to researchers at the university who want to conduct experiments related to human behaviour and cognition.
“We support the work of researchers and help them start using our facilities. Access to COBE Lab is open to anyone at Aarhus University who may need it,” says Lab Manager Mette Hejberg Pedersen.
Right now, the laboratory is used extensively by researchers from the Department of Management and the Department of Economics and Business Economics. But researchers from the programmes in Cognitive Science and Linguistics also use the lab occasionally. If you would like access to COBE's resources, you can send an application to cobelab@au.dk.
COBE Lab provides various equipment
The laboratory has several technical aids that they make available to researchers. These include VR headsets, eye trackers, measuring devices to perform physiological measurements of sweat production, pulse rate, blood pressure, etc., as well as EEG equipment to record electrical impulses in the brain. The laboratory also has several rooms, computers and a waiting room that users can borrow. COBE Lab also has a very large pool of participants.
The participant pool was created by COBE Lab and is made up of volunteers who researchers can use as test subjects. Participants are either students or people from outside the university, and the only requirement for becoming a test subject is that you are over 18 years old. Participants receive money for participating, and interested parties can register on the website.
