2. The board's report (by chairman Jacob Jensen)

  • From ASB to BSS
Backed by our dean, we’ve become a staff association for all employees at School of Business and Social Sciences.

We want to help preserve ties between old colleagues, and therefore employees from the former ASB who are today at a different place in Aarhus University’s organization are still welcome as members.

There’s frequently been created awareness about the association and our events through the internal newsletter and via an email to all employees at the beginning of the semester.

We’ve also tried to arrange department visits where the association could be presented, but it has only been possible at the Department of Business Communication and the Department of Marketing and Organization. The response has been positive, but in reality it’s difficult to find a good time for it because the new departments are very large and rarely gather for joint morning meetings etc.

The website is moved to the BSS website for employees.
  • Number of members:
We have reached 342 members (329 last year), including 6 senior members, 14 student assistants/part-time employees - and only 14 from the former Faculty of Social Sciences.
  • Events since last annual general meeting:
The Staff Association can look back on a year with many very different events and offers. Again, a special thanks to those members who took the initiative to organize and hold events last year: Steen Weisner (tour of the S-building), Peter Løchte Jørgensen (diving), Corey Morris (paintball) Niclas Skovbjerg and Henrik Thomsen (a day at sea) and Lotte Bærentsen (climbing).

The ARoS membership continues and the offer is being used a lot. There’s been  a few problems with the distribution of the cards. The handling of the cards has changed from Laura to Svend.
