The collaboration between disparate disciplines will better enable us to address maritime complexities and tensions. For example, new shipping routes have changed power relations and influenced the daily life of people and of ocean life before, but how do we understand the tension between climate change induced opportunities for economic gain and disasters for humans and wildlife in the Arctic today?

The lunch will encourage open, cross-disciplinary dialogue and feature the following speed-talks:

  • ARTS: Associate Professor, Annette Skovsted Hansen, History and Global Studies: Histories of New Shipping Routes: Implications for trans-disciplinary maritime research
  • TECH: Professor MSO, Christian Sonne, Department of Bio-science, Arctic Research Centre: The Arctic as a Tipping Point: Ecotoxicology, Wildlife Medicine and One Health
