All AU researchers now have access to ERDA, which is a new digital system for storing and sharing non-sensitive research data.

ERDA and SIF are new storage systems for research data that will make it easier for researchers to store and share data in a secure, efficient and responsible manner, including with partners outside AU.

As the first of the two solutions, ERDA is now available for use by all AU researchers. ERDA allows researchers to store and share research data that is not personal data or sensitive in other ways, for example due to IP or strategic considerations.

Researchers who work such sensitive data will need to wait until SIF becomes available; the system is expected to be fully operational and accessible for AU researchers this autumn.

ERDA has three significant advantages in relation to other data storage solutions:

  1. ERDA is a free service designed specifically for research data
  2. ERDA is local
  3. ERDA will use WAYF to validate external users, which provides additional security

Originally, the rollout of both ERDA and SIF was scheduled for late 2022. The rollout schedule has since been adjusted due to challenges associated with technical and organisational implementation.

ERDA users who need support can contact https://support.au.dk/CherwellPortal/IT.

Are you interested in participating in a pilot project with SIF?

SIF is currently operating on a pilot basis in preparation for rollout, which is scheduled to take place this autumn.

As an AU researcher, you are welcome to use the system on a pilot basis.
