Four representatives from AU join new investment committee: Funding initiatives to promote healthy ageing

Aarhus University has four representatives in a new investment committee which has been established as part of Aarhus Municipality's health foundation.

The health of Aarhus’ older population will be in focus when a newly appointed investment committee identifies initiatives and activities to address future challenges in eldercare in Aarhus Municipality.

The City Council has just appointed three researchers from AU faculties and the director of Enterprise and Innovation as committee members:

  • Philipp Schröder, professor at the Department of Economics and Business Economics, Aarhus BSS
  • Helle Terkildsen Maindal, head of department at the Department of Public Health, Faculty of Health
  • Mogens Vestergaard, professor at the Department of Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Health
  • Lone Ryg Olsen, director of Enterprise and Innovation

Some of the main issues the foundation will focus on are the early detection of dementia, supporting citizens with chronic disease, and investing in long-term initiatives that promote an active and healthy life.

The fifth and final member of the investment committee is the chair of the Danish Council on Ethics, Leif Vestergaard Pedersen, who has also been appointed chair of the investment committee
