Are you an international staff member? Register for a seminar on AU as a workplace

On Thursday 7 March, there will be an AU Workplace in Focus seminar in English that is open to all international staff at AU, hosted by the International Staff Office.

AU Workplace in Focus is a two-hour seminar that offers all international staff at AU a deeper understanding of AU as a workplace. This is an opportunity to meet other international colleagues and get answers to typical questions about working conditions and practices at AU, including everyday working practices, occupational health, terms of employment, unions, salary negotiations and workplace assessments, among other topics.

The International Staff Office is behind AU Workplace in Focus, which builds on the digital welcome that introduces all new staff to AU as well as the intro webinar for international staff, Employment at AU. AU Workplace in Focus gives participants an opportunity to explore some of the topics addressed by these online resources in greater depth, as well as following up on information and experiences from their new workplace.

AU Workplace in Focus seminars will held in English and will take place in the spring and in the autumn. The first seminar will take place on 7 March 2023.

Digital welcome presentation replaces Danish intro meetings
AU’s digital welcome presentation in 2021, which was introduced in 2021, provides an easily accessible and comprehensive introduction to Aarhus University as an organisation and workplace. Since the presentation became available, staff have found that in-person intro meetings in Danish have become less relevant. For this reason, in-person intro meeting in Danish have been phased out, and from now on, the primary introduction to AU for new staff will be the digital welcome presentation, which will continue to supplement onboarding processes at the various units.
