Institutional accreditation: Focus on three themes
The accreditation panel has chosen three themes, or audit trails, that will shed light on how AU’s educational quality assurance system works in practice. Preparations for the next panel visit have started.
Aarhus University submitted an institutional report to the Danish Accreditation Institution in September last year and hosted the first of two visits by the accreditation panel in December. The panel has selected three audit trails based on the report and the visit that will be used to shed light on how AU’s educational quality assurance system works in practice.
The three audit trails are 1) degree programme evaluation, 2) ensuring the necessary knowledge base and 3) ensuring pedagogical and didactic quality, including student-centred learning.
These themes will be the focus of the next panel visit on 12-15 March, where the accreditation panel will interview a large number of managers, teachers, students and stakeholders (such as employers) involved in a number of degree programmes.
AU must submit relevant documentation to the accreditation panel prior to the visit, such as degree programme evaluations, action plans or guidelines.
The accreditation institution will submit their report outline and recommendation for consultation at AU in June, and it is expected that the decision will be announced on 24 September.
