The winner of the competition to decorate two walls in the café in building 1791 in The University City has been found, and it is architecture student Thorbjørn Korshøj Bording Nielsen from the Aarhus School of Architecture with his work: THE COMMUNITY.
The task was to reuse ceiling panels from the former Aarhus Municipal Hospital as a key element in the café’s decoration.
The justification for choosing Thorbjørn Korshøj Bording Nielsen’s works reads, among other things:
“The works reach out with open arms and claim their space in the room. In both colour and narrative, the works demonstrate a convincing coherence with one another and with the colours of the spaces, as well as with the interior and furnishing project.”
The artistic decoration of the café in building 1791, The University City, will be carried out in the spring of 2026, when you will be able to see the result.
