Parking Facilities in the University City

The University City is car-free, however, limited commercial traffic is permitted to ensure smooth operations. This means that driving and parking are not permitted within the area. Instead, an underground parking facility has been built with access from Peter Sabroes Gade 37, offering space for approximately 100 cars. The entrance is located directly opposite the church. You can park your car at the back in the area that is AU's zone.

Parking is also available at the multi-storey car park at Peter Sabroes Gade 8.

AU has a total of 303 parking spaces at the University City, divided into two parking areas:

  • Parking lot, Peter Sabroes Gade 8: 203 spaces. In the parking lot, an electronic sign at the entrance shows the number of available AU spaces – if there is space, you can park for free in all spaces in the parking lot P-kælderen,
  • Peter Sabroes Gade 37: 100 spaces. In the parking lot, the AU spaces are located at the back of the basement in AU's blue zone.

Parking Around the University City and in the University Park

You can also park in the surrounding area. Here, municipal parking regulations apply, just as they do in the University Park. Please check the signage for details.

Please note that the current employee parking permit is only temporarily valid in The University City. All employee parking permits have been extended until expiration on 06/30/2027. Further information about where to register for the new permit will be provided as soon as possible.

In brief:

  • At The University City’s two parking areas, a separate employee parking permit will be introduced specifically for The University City. This permit will be free of charge, in line with the current employee parking permit that applies to the rest of Campus Aarhus. The new permit will come into force soon. More information will follow.
  • The current AU employee parking permit may be used temporarily in The University City until the new permit comes into force.
  • BSS employees may therefore park in The University City’s parking areas during the transition period, using their existing employee parking permit, until the new parking permit comes into force. This also applies to guest parking.
  • You will receive further information before the new parking permit comes into force.
