The Microsoft app Intune Company Portal helps us keep our mobile devices up to date with the latest security updates.

Within the last couple days, many employees have received an email from microsoft-noreply@microsoft.com with a reminder to update their mobile phones or tablets. If you have received this email, it is important that you follow the update instructions to continue to have mobile access to services such as AU email, Teams and OneDrive.

Several people suspected that the email was spam or a phishing attempt, says Karsten Ovesen from AU IT.

“In many ways it’s positive that we have employees who are aware of the risk of phishing. In future, we will need to adjust the form of these Microsoft emails so they don’t sow doubts among employees,” he says and emphasises the importance of regular security updates of mobile devices in order to maintain a high level of security.

How to update

  • On Apple devices open the ‘Settings’ app, then go to ‘General’ and then ‘Software Update’. Here you will be able to install the latest update.
  • On Android devices open the ‘Settings’ app, then go to ‘System’ and then ‘System Update’ Here you will be able to install the latest update.
