It’s your last chance to transfer your landline telephone number to Teams Calls

AU’s landline telephone system has been replaced by Microsoft Teams over the course of the year. If you still have a landline phone and would like your number transferred to Teams, the deadline is 8 November 2022.

The old desk phones at AU will soon be history. Since the spring, AU IT has disconnected or transferred almost 7,000 landline numbers to Microsoft Teams, which is now used by AU’s staff for phone calls, video meetings and online chat.

Now the time has come to pull the plug on the old landline system, so if you still have a landline phone number you want to keep, this is your last chance to get it transferred to Teams. For example if you don’t have a mobile phone.

All you have to do is contact your local IT support team no later than 8 November. Find your local IT support team

Earlier this year, staff with landline phone numbers were given the option of either transferring their number to Teams or having it disconnected. Read the announcement about the transition to Teams Phone

If there are several staff members from the same office or team who still need their phone numbers transferred to Teams, the IT support teams would appreciate it if all numbers are included on the same support ticket. They also need the AU ID number that corresponds with each phone number.

Turn your old desk phone in to your IT support team and conserve energy

There are currently more desk phones plugged in than there are active landline phone numbers. To help conserve energy, AU IT encourages everyone who still has an old desk phone to unplug it and turn it in to their local IT support team.
