On Friday 23 January, VPN access to AU’s network was reconfigured as part of a necessary security upgrade. Unfortunately, this means that many users are getting an error message when they try to sign in to the VPN.

There is a way around this. You must ensure that your AU affiliation is written after ‘remote.au.dk’ in the text field when you try to sign in. This will either be an AU faculty (ARTS, BSS, HE, NAT-TECH), AU central administration (FA), or the Department of Forensic Medicine (IFR). Previously, you could select these affiliations from the drop-down menu (see below):

But now you have to actively write them in the text field. For example, if you work at Arts, you need to write ‘remote.au.dk/arts’ in the text field.

Select an option from the following list to write in the text field:

  • Arts: remote.au.dk/ARTS
  • BSS: remote.au.dk/BSS
  • Health: remote.au.dk/HE
  • Nat-Tech: remote.au.dk/ST
  • Central administration: remote.au.dk/FA
  • Department of Forensic Medicine: remote.au.dk/IFR

You’ll find more information on how to access the VPN in this guide.
