Knowledge Hubs are key to Circle U's academic activities. The Knowledge Hubs are physical and virtual spaces for students and staff to co-create knowledge and solutions across disciplines with external stakeholders and find new ways of working together.
The three Knowledge Hubs focus on:
Each knowledge Hub is led by an Academic Director and a number of Academic Chairs - one researcher from each university.
The Climate Knowledge Hub is working with climate change and its impacts on our civilization. Through research projects, seminars, case competitions, etc., AU researchers and students have the opportunity to gain international experience and contribute to the green transition.
AU's Senior Researcher Hans Sanderson from the Department of Environmental Science is the academic chair representing AU in the Climate Knowledge Hub.
The Global Health Knowledge Hub is working on different health-related challenges in an international perspective. Through research projects, seminars, summer schools etc, AU researchers and students have the opportunity to gain international experience, strengthen their network - and of course contribute to solving global health problems.
Professor Christian Wejse of the Department of Public Health is the academic chair representing AU in the Global Health Knowledge Hub.
The Democracy Knowledge Hub will be working on themes like sustainable democracies, corruption and inequality. Through research projects, seminars etc., AU researchers and students will have the opportunity to gain international experience and contribute to the strengthening of democracy both at home and abroad.
Associate professor Lars Johannsen from the Department of Political Sciences is the academic chair representing AU in the Democracy Knowledge Hub.
