Aarhus University main organiser of European Climate Change Adaptation Conference

On 12-14 May, researchers, politicians, businesspeople and decision-makers are gathering in Copenhagen for the European Climate Change Adaptation Conference – ECCA 2015. The Department of Environmental Science, Aarhus University, is heading the Danish organising committee. 

The overall programme themes are:

  • Climate change adaptation in urban areas
  • Climate change adaptation to control flooding
  • Climate change adaptation and public health
  • Adaptation to extreme climate events
  • Climate change adaptation policies and economics

The conference is expected to bring together more than 1,000 delegates from all over Europe. The delegates include, among others, the EU’s former Commissioner for Climate Action Connie Hedegaard and Danish Minister for the Environment Kirsten Brosbøl.

Louise Gade steps down as deputy director of HR

Louise Gade has been offered a new job as Director of the School of Continuing Education at VIA University College from 1 August 2015. She is thus stepping down from her position as deputy director of HR, which she has held since 2009.

The position of deputy director of HR will be advertised as soon as possible.


International panel praises the graduate school at Health

An international evaluation panel has concluded that the graduate school at Health is well-organised and provides talented researchers with good opportunities for pursuing their ambitions of an academic career.

The evaluation report has just been published.


Department names finalised at Aarhus BSS

Danish and English names have now been decided for the Department of Management and the Department of Economics and Business Economics. In addition, the graduate school at Aarhus BSS also has a new name following the implementation of the new short name for the faculty, Aarhus BSS, in April.
