• One waste sorting solution for AU
  At the moment, some building complexes and large kitchens and canteens at AU already sort their waste into different waste fractions (like in a private household). This waste sorting system will now be expanded to the remaining buildings at AU and will include all kitchenettes, study areas, and eating areas next to canteens and outside lecture halls. Once the waste has been sorted, it will be collected and driven to recycling stations or sent for incineration. The new waste sorting system is expected to be implemented during 2023, once it has been confirmed how many fractions the waste should be sorted into in order to be processed/reused at the recycling stations.
• EV charging stations on campus for employees and visitors
  The possibility of establishing EV charging stations in AU car parks is being explored, which would benefit AU’s employees and visitors.
• More biodiversity trial areas in the University Park
  Selected areas at AU have already been designated as areas of biodiversity. In 2022 and the years ahead, more trial areas will be allocated to biodiversity projects, which will contribute to the university’s sustainable development.
• Solar cells on the roofs of buildings
  The possibility of installing solar cells on selected roofs at AU is being investigated. Parts of this project are taking place in a Living Labs collaboration with researchers from TECH and BSS, who are looking into whether shares of the solar cells can be sold to interested employees.
• Encouraging climate-friendly purchasing behaviour
  New procedures and agreements are being developed. The goal is to promote more climate-friendly purchasing behaviour.
• Training programme for employees
  A project description is being developed which will explore the possibilities of creating an AU CLiMATE training programme within the framework of AU Green Network. The training programme will provide staff and students with more knowledge about climate issues and how they as individuals can contribute to the green transition in the workplace.
