New division manager of Research Support Office wants to make life easier for researchers
Na Ree Sørensen is the new division manager of the Research Support Office – and she is looking forward to working more closely with researchers again. Na Ree has filled many roles at AU over the years, including at department level and most recently as head of Analysis and Policy in the Rector’s Office. The chance to get to work more closely with researchers and research was what convinced her to apply for the position as head of the Research Support Office.
“I’ve always been interested in the research support function because it is so closely linked to the world of research, where there is a lot at stake for the individual researcher. External funding plays a major role in the careers of researchers and in the development of research environments. And if the Research Support Office can help make life a little easier for our researchers, then I’m happy,” says Na Ree Sørensen.
Connect and collaborate
In Na Ree’s view, she is taking over as head of a well-managed and professional research support unit. Initially, she will therefore give priority to supporting links with the local research support units and with the faculties. “It’s important that there’s a dialogue between all those working with research support so that researchers feel that it is easy for them to get the help they need.
There is no wrong door – everybody helps and refers to others. So my job is to facilitate smooth and flexible collaborations – across the university,” she says.
In the immediate future, Na Ree will be touring the organisation, primarily to listen and learn, and everybody is welcome to contact her.
