Update: ERC rolls back stricter re-submission rules
In a newsletter issued earlier this week, we informed readers that the ERC would introduce new and stricter restrictions on re-submission in its 2027 Work Programme. This information was based on the ERC’s announcement from 16 April 2026. The ERC Scientific Council has now announced that it is rolling back these stricter measures following extensive feedback from the research community.
This means that the re-submission rules for Starting, Consolidator, Advanced and ERC Plus Grants in 2027 will remain unchanged compared to previous years. However, wider re-submission rules will still apply to Synergy Grants.
